The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office is sponsoring an Introduction to Firearms class. The program will be held at the Griffin Gun Club on Thursday, April 25, 2019 (550 Amelia Road Griffin, Ga 30223). The class will be from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The class is for those 18 and over. You cannot have a felony or a domestic violence conviction (family violence).

The introduction to firearms class is designed for the person that has little or no experience with firearms. Topics such as firearm laws, when and where to carry, use of deadly force, and marksmanship fundamentals will be covered and discussed. The students will get a chance to fire a weapon under the guidance of a firearms instructor and will be given instruction on proper marksmanship fundamentals.

Registration includes the following:
Box lunch from Chick fil A of Griffin (Sandwich, Waffle chips, and a cookie) Water is free and soft drinks are available for 50 cents each.

Ammunition (380, .38 special, .40 caliber, 9 mm and .22 Long Rifle) Firearms (you can bring your own or use one of ours).

Once you contact Julie, she will send you an application. Once you fill the application out, return it, and pay your money, they you are in the class. Until you have completed all of these steps, you are not guaranteed a spot in the class. This class will be conducted regardless of the weather. As long as it isn’t Snowing or Lightning, we will have the class
